Alarm Company Reviews Help You Shop for Peace of Mind

Posted by , , at 8:48 am

As consumers increasingly shop online for important services like wireless home security and home automation, it’s no surprise that nothing beats the power and convenience of on-line customer testimonials. Customer reviews are simply the best way to compare companies and see what actual users have to say about their providers. This fact holds especially true when protecting your home and family, since you definitely want to choose the company with the best and latest technology, and the highest service level: all that spells peace of mind, which you deserve

What Customers Say

Today’s shoppers increasingly use the Internet to research alarm companies – for complaints, as well as raves. In fact, there are some sites that specifically focus on complaints, and they are great resources for comparative shopping. Plus, you can learn a lot in a short time. I’ve posted on the growth and importance of alarm company review sites before – and wrote recently on an alarm company warning issued by the granddaddy of review sites – the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Today you can check online reviews for just about any company – even the ones who knock on your door, offering a deal you cannot refuse: just remember: you really want to do your homework before you sign up.

Specific Sites to Visit

Some of the popular sites (like yelp.com and epinions.com) have starred rating systems, and users can apply a 1-5 score along with a detailed description of their experience. Angie’s List is a membership review site, where their subscribers can share detailed notes about a wide range of service providers. FrontPoint has great reviews on all of them, and today I’ll share another great one with you – this one from Yelp. It’s a little long – but worth the read for all the points it covers.

After doing A LOT of research, I settled on FrontPoint as my choice for my home security system.
As a Law Enforcement Officer, I recognize the need and self-assurance of having a home security system to protect my family and valuables. In over 15 years of police service, I have responded to thousands of alarm calls and had to opportunity to view different alarm systems, both commercial and residential. Although there are some excellent systems out there that offer some really high tech advantages, they are very expensive and I have not been overly impressed nor heard any stellar review from their customers.

Through my research, I found FrontPoint point to offer all the technological advantages of some of the very expensive high end systems, although at a very reasonable price and user friendliness. I very much like the cellular system in which FrontPoint operates. They offer security for all my residential needs, and more. The mobile app and online set up are easy to use for both non-tech folks and offer very impressive advanced options for those who like to customize their systems. The mobile app is easy to use and puts me at ease when I am away from home knowing the status of my system. My concern was the lack of a security code to access my mobile app, however the most recent update has resolved this. Now I am without any complaints!

The fact that I install the system myself was a HUGE selling point. I do not need to rely on a shady guy who works for an alarm installation company coming into my home and setting up my system so he know how to defeat it or tell his buddies how to get in. I am very paranoid about letting strangers in my home repair work, let alone someone who is there to “keep it protected.” I love the options of setting temporary user codes for our house sitter and other family.

Customer service at FrontPoint had been top notch. Trouble shooting a few minor problems has been easy with their assistance. Set up was a breeze. I just recently ordered a few new additions to my system which included a second touchscreen control panel, glass break sensor and smoke/heat alarm. Customer service and set up took less than 5 minutes and they walked me thru programming with easy step by step instructions. I have had a few false alarms, which have been my fault by either accidentally forgetting about the alarm or from my installation on a window that was having some mechanical issues with, and the sensors would not align properly.

When the alarms activated, I was extremely impressed at the promptness of the alert to my mobile phone immediately, followed by a call from the alarm company ready to send the police. As I stated earlier, in my profession I respond to alarm calls all the time and am amazed at the amount of time it takes the alarm company to contact the police, sometimes as long as 5-10 minutes… Do you know how much can be taken from your home in 5 minutes, let alone how far away a thief can get to elude capture?  Since having my system (and I believe I am one of the few in my area with FrontPoint), we have referred it to several friends, colleagues and family. Of those, most have gone with FrontPoint and been very pleased with the system, the ease of set up and customer support. I plan on adding a few features in the future which include an external audible alarm. Thank you, FrontPoint.

We couldn’t ask for a better review: it’s detailed, honest, covers all the bases, and clearly communicates the peace of mind this FrontPoint customer now feels – and this was written by a law enforcement professional! You may have found your own great review sites – if so, please let me know, and I’ll spread the word. The good news is that these sites are objective, credible, and not subject to abuse, which makes them all the more useful. And I should mention that when you search for “FrontPoint reviews” you’ll find the same great news: we work extra hard on behalf of our customers to make sure it stays that way. As the leader in wireless home security, and the #1 ranked home alarm company in the US, FrontPoint is committed to your safety and security – and that means honest sales and advertising, no hidden fees, the best technology at the best price, and world-class service. Now that is peace of mind.

I have also searched far and wide, including a recent competitive landscape revisit look briefly just out of curiosity, and what was true 5+ years ago when I first bought my system from FrontPoint appears to be as much or more true today.

I cannot find anything that beats your overall value proposition even 5 years on!

I am even amazed that most of these competitors cannot even be bothered by putting up a nice website that looks modern and professional, is easy to navigate, and full of transparent information and pricing. One major contender even had broken weblinks from its own website to another page on its own website! Are you kidding me!?

Several do not even list physical operating or even usps mail addresses!! That is an immediate no go in any commerce for me.

You guys clearly take your business very seriously and it shows in so many ways. I am even more confident in you and happy I am a customer after my recent survey. I am truly shocked that in 5 years you do not have more serious competition.

The only semi real competition you face is from some of the offerings of a few of the big boys (finally) (but those are overpriced in both equipment cost and more importantly monthly rate!) AND a couple alarm.com vendors, but even those you have handily matched (at least) on pricing and beaten almost every other way.

What a lame industry that is not more competitive by this day and age, but I am happy for you guys… A longer period to enjoy the fruits of your hard work and get that much more ahead in the meantime.

You guys strike me as operating like a tech startup, while pretty much the rest of the industry is business as usual. Markets are eventually efficient, and these traditional-pace players will increasingly and exponentially see their lunch eaten if they do not keep pace in tech, pricing, presentation, simplicity, transparency, and customer service like you guys.

And your website is a piece of art, very functional, professional, and informative art, but artwork nonetheless. Fortunately, beauty is not just skin deep in this case, as I will attest to as a long time happy user of all your services except door locks (which I have no current need for).

And this blog is impressive and interesting, and just one more sign of your interest, seriousness, and commitment to Frontpoint.

I have long considered Frontpoint a case study in how to run a 21st century business right, and it continues to be what I would aspire to if I ever ran my own business. Continued, and growing by the year, hats off guys!

I would eventually like to see you get big enough to be your own equipment oem… You supply all the equipment you use exlusively for yourself with your own backend SaaS infrastructure too.

Another option would to be a new equipment and/or SaaS vendor for others, if that makes more sense from a scale or profitability standpoint, but that would be sadder since you would no longer offer direct to consumer service and sales, else you would be competing against your customers. But I would be happy for you guys either way… You have put in the hard work and enjoy the rewards in whatever flavor makes sense.

Thanks for staying awesome over all these years!! It is noted and appreciated by your customers, who, lets be honest, don’t have any real apples-to-apples alternatives. That is a good position to be and stay in!

Alan – this is a remarkably generous post of you to make, and thanks very much. I have passed your comments on to the web site folks, and they will be beaming, I am sure. We are working hard to stay ahead of the competition – including the new entrants. One thing we really like to do is keep the “small company” feeling with excellent service and a response level that is the envy of the industry, on top of offering all the cool technology. And if we end up providing the best of all worlds, so be it. Thanks again!
