Your alarm system is an important investment, and you should never have to sacrifice it or start over when you move. You’re already familiar with the operation of your current system, and hopefully it’s customized specifically for your home and your lifestyle. With FrontPoint, you own the system and we certainly hope you’ll take it with you! We won’t play around with the dates of your monitoring agreement, or make you sign a new contract. Watch out for companies who do, and make sure they spell out exactly the costs or hassles connected to moving their system.
Moving Is Easier with FrontPoint

The Control Panel already has the cellular radio built in, so you never have to worry about connecting it to your phone or internet line. All you need in the new location is a single bar of cellular coverage. What to Do When You Move
Here are the 4 simple steps for moving your FrontPoint alarm system:
- Tell us when the current system is coming offline
- Pack up your sensors and Control Panel (and cameras, if you have any)
- When you get to your new home, set up your system in whatever manner best suits the new house. We’ll happily send you more double-sided adhesive.
- Call us and we’ll activate your system again, the same way we did with your original FrontPoint system
Is your new home bigger? Different floor plan? Remember that any time you need more or different sensors, adding on is super easy. With any FrontPoint monitoring plan, you can have up to 39 sensors. And we’ll never increase your monthly rate when you add on.
Moving is the perfect time to consider whether you have all the safety and coverage you need. Are all your ground-level points of entry protected? How about windows? Remember you can use a single Glass Break sensor to protect areas with several windows, instead of putting a Window Sensor on every single one. Also consider critical safety measures like a Smoke and Heat Sensor or CO Sensor. And to protect your investment in your new home, think about a Water/Flood Sensor in your laundry room, or the room with the water heater. If you’re moving to a cold climate, you might want a Freeze Sensor to protect against bursting pipes. If your family is expanding, maybe now’s the time to add a video camera and watch the kids get home from school safely!
