If you’re with Frontpoint, you have peace of mind knowing that your home is being professionally monitored 24/7. But as comforting as it is to know that someone is protecting your house around the clock, it’s also nice being able to do a little bit of monitoring yourself.
One of the most effective methods of home surveillance is using a security camera (or multiple). With cameras, you can check in on your home real-time using your computer or mobile device, allowing you to see what’s happening with your own eyes. This is a great way to confirm alerts, and check in on kids, pets and guests.
Live or Recorded
There are two ways to view security camera footage. First, you can view a live feed using various devices. If you’re at work, log into MyFrontpoint.com and tune in on your computer. At a restaurant or just walking around? Pull out your phone and you can see what’s going on in your home using the Frontpoint mobile app.
You can also set your cameras up to record clips whenever they’re activated by motion. You’ll get a notification whenever a clip is recorded and you can view it right that instant, or at a later time. Up to 1000 clips can be stored at a time, so don’t worry about watching it right away!
Using cameras in conjunction with your sensors forms a powerful combination. Once an alert notifies you that a sensor has been triggered, just view the live feed or recorded clip on your camera to confirm if it’s a real emergency or not.
If you don’t already own a security camera, a great one to start off with is the Wireless Indoor Camera. With up to a 1280×800 resolution, viewing range of up to 20 feet, and night vision capability, it serves all your indoor surveillance needs.
